Agathe Larpent

Born in 1946 in Paris, Agathe Larpent lives in Thoard in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence area. An emblematic figure of French contemporary ceramic art, Agathe Larpent inhabits space with unique ceramic expression in which the earth is metamorphosed and the materials and colours mingle with the sole aim of arousing sensitivity.

In 1999, Agathe Larpent created L’eau coule, les pierres demeurent immobiles au fil de l’eau [Water flows, stones remain immobile in the stream of water], a work installed in Saint-Benoît Park, Digne-les-Bains.
